Justin + Joanne, Huntsman Inn, Holmfirth

Sometimes you meet a couple and you know they are just ACE! This was certainly the case with Joanne and Justin on our first meeting they made me feel so welcome and was completely down-to-earth which I absolutely love. It's funny how things work, I'd never photographed a wedding at The Huntsman Inn, Holmfirth but now I had two in the same week. I love it there so I was very happy and it's also less than five minutes away from my home.

I headed over to The Huntsman in the morning to meet up with Jo for bridal preparations, this is always one of my favourite times, it's a great opportunity to meet lots of the key people (mainly team bride). Sometimes bridal prep is quiet sometimes it's a little crazy and I'm going to say this one was a bit of both. I could tell that Joanne was a little nervous so I always have to create pictures that illustrate the real story.

Justin, on the other hand, was in his element. Going back to the initial meeting he told me that he and his friends love messing about in 4x4's. In fact, one of the reasons they chose the venue was because they were allowed to bring their cars into the grounds. So, Justin spent the morning manoeuvring vehicles into a formation and moving plant pots which was fun to watch.

The whole day was incredible, everyone I met was great fun. It was a room full of genuine people which is how I roll. Just after the ceremony, we headed outside just before the heavens opened and the rain came pouring down. After the wedding breakfast and the speeches, the rain had stopped so we headed outside for some fun. It's a first for me but 4x4's are pretty tough and can stand some hammer so obviously, we chose to do some family pictures stood on bonnets and roofs of the vehicles.  The 4x4's also made great stepping stones so loads of the kids spent the evening jumping onto them.

Just before the first dance and the party started there was the most gorgeous sunset so I sneaked Justin and Jo off for a few more pictures, we went into the adjacent field (shhhhh don't tell anyone) and I managed to lay in sheep mess but captured some fabulous silhouettes.

Now it was PARTY time and Justin had booked his favourite local band Naughty Dog, they were absolutely brilliant, got the whole room on the dancefloor rocking!

The whole day was absolutely fantastic, I loved everything and everyone and it was a real pleasure to photograph. Thank you, Joanne and Justin, for allowing me to photograph your special day.
