Brand photography in Slaithwaite, Huddersfield

Personal brand photo shoot with KB Mortgages
A few weeks ago I headed over to the stunning Empire House in Slaithwaite to meet up and photograph Kate and Rebecca from KB Mortgages.
Location
I was very spoilt for the location as the photoshoot took place in the amazing Empire House at Slaithwaite in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. I met up with Kate and Rebecca and also Amy (the owner of Empire House) and we had a quick chat about what Kate had in mind and we cracked on.
We started off in the orangery which was perfect for a photoshoot. Bathed in natural light and stylish decor I was pretty happy.
Building a rapport with your client
It was the first time that I had met Kate and Rebecca and both of them weren’t massive fans of having their picture taken. When this happens I just try to make the shoot fun and as chilled out as possible. It took a little bit of time for the nerves to go away but we did get thereafter I had shot a few frames. In fact, one technique I sometimes use is to take a few pictures and show the client to see if they like what they see.
Know the brief
I knew exactly what kind of imagery KB Mortgages required for their website, social media and public relations pictures so I made sure that I ticked all of these boxes. I knew I needed to get some casual pictures of Kate and Rebecca as individual shots and also some images of them working together. I also knew that we needed some more formal headshots which could be used for Linkedin profile pictures.
The boardroom
After we had photographed in the orangery it was time for a change of location so we headed into the boardroom to capture some other pictures. The boardroom at Empire House is an amazing, lovely bespoke handmade desk and it has a fabulous overall look to it. I captured Kate doing some presenting and some more candid pictures of Kate and Rebecca working together.
Know when to quit
Finally, the brief was to get a few shots in natural light for PR purposes, a quick scout about outside and I found a nice stone wall in the shade to get these pictures. I knew I had everything that was required so it was time to head off. The shoot took just over an hour and we got some fabulous pictures.
