Brand shoot for Strands in Honley, Holmfirth
Strands Hair Salon brand shoot
A while ago I headed to Strands Hair Salon in Honley, Holmfirth for a little brand shoot. Once again these pictures were for Strands business listing on the Honley website. It’s always interesting as I never know how a photo shoot is going to go. I had previously had a little chat with Tracey on the phone and I had a good idea that the shoot would be loads of fun and I wasn’t wrong.
Have a rough plan
How the Honley photo shoots work is that Jeanette a brilliant copywriter from copywrite produces the copy for each business, then I go in and do the shoot. Because Jeanette does such a fantastic job writing the copy I then put pictures to the story, the photoshoots are people-focused but it means I have a good idea of what I need to focus on.
Have a laugh
The best photo shoots are when you have fun with your clients, it just creates fabulous, natural and relaxed pictures. The second I walked in I could tell we were going to have a right laugh and we certainly did. One customer was having her hair cut and she seemed to produce a dog from nowhere which was very random.
I don’t like having my picture taken
This is something I hear on pretty much every photo shoot I ever attend so I am completely used to it. My way around this is to make the shoot fun and to not try and pose anyone, just capture pictures. I actually remember on this photoshoot I went outside and then sneaked up on everyone in disguise of a plant (don’t ask) but it did get a fantastic reaction and we got some great pictures that are a true representation of Strands Hair Salon.
How long did the shoot take?
This photoshoot took about twenty minutes in total and I think we got some fabulous pictures. It’s important to know when you have everything and to know when to stop. The shoot was loads of fun and I think the pictures look brilliant on their business listing.
