Crayke Manor, York wedding

Elaine and Luke’s DIY marquee wedding at Crayke Manor
Elaine and Luke’s amazing wedding at Crayke Manor, York, North Yorkshire from the archives. As I’m still updating this website, I’m now going through the archives and digging out some of my favourite weddings. Here’s one from July 2016.
The big day
Wow! What can I say about Elaine and Luke’s wedding apart from it was AMAZING!
Instead of listing everything, I’ll mention my own personal highlights from the wedding.
Chilled out vicar and a fashionably late bride
Once again, I met some lovely genuine people all the guests were there to have fun and to enjoy the special day. The wedding ceremony took place at Our Lady and All Saints Catholic Church, Otley and the vicar was the most chilled out I’d ever come across. He didn’t mind that the bride was LATE he just went and put his hot pot in the oven (I wish there were more like him).
The ceremony was beautiful, loads of tears, smiles and laughter.
Trampoline fun
For the reception, we headed over to Crayke Manor, York and oh my word it looked stunning. The Manor House provided a stunning back drop but there was a fabulous marquee where the reception took place. One of my highlights was the trampoline in the garden. If you ever want something fun at a wedding get a trampoline!
The speeches were lovely, touching but very funny. It was obvious that Elaine and Luke are close to all their family and friends.
After the wedding breakfast, everyone headed out to play the garden games. Drunk people trying to hit balls through hoops (also known as croquet) can be hilarious. There were people on the zip line, lots of folk playing boule and some playing quoites. It was a lovely atmosphere.
Party time
For the first dance, they had their friend singing on his guitar and he was brilliant, he even got the bride and groom up to sing Human Leagues’ – Don’t you want me which again made for some fantastic pictures. He was a very talented singer (sorry, I don’t know his name)
A fish and Chip van came in the evening to serve the guests, people danced and there seemed to be lots of masks of Luke that suddenly appeared which was very amusing.
This was an AWESOME wedding.
Congratulations Elaine and Luke.
