Holmfirth Harriers training session
Documentary sports photography is one of my favourite things to do so when I had the opportunity to meet up with the Holmfirth Harriers in Honley it made me happy.
I headed to the infamous Neiley Pavillion to meet up with the Holmfirth Harriers, unfortunately for me, it was the hottest day of the year which made it pretty difficult. I had to capture a selection of images for the Honley website and I wanted a bit of a variety. When I arrived there were people running around the field and I instantly worked out which people would be up for some more photos.
The weather was so hot and it was actually really humid so wasn’t the most pleasant. The coach encouraged a small group of runners to work with me so we headed up to a wooded area. As it was so warm (I may have mentioned that) I was conscious about having them do too much. I had a couple of different groups run towards me so I could capture a few pictures, then they made me do it, unfortunately all the pictures they took were out of focus (phew).
The short time that I was there was great fun, I would love to do more photos in a storytelling capacity for sports clubs and sportspeople so please do get in touch john@johnsteelphotography.com
