Fitness photography, Leeds, gymnast

I have some crazy ideas
Ten years ago I had an idea to do some fitness photography of a gymnast in Leeds, West Yorkshire. So we’re now in lockdown week (no idea) and I’ve been going through the archives. Here’s a photoshoot that I did in 2010. I wanted to shoot a variety of sports and as we do we think about the people we know. I thought for some crazy reason that it would be great to get a picture of a gymnast in a tree. Fortunately, I used to work with someone who was a bit of a gymnast and into Crossfit so I asked if he would be game. Fortunately, Danny agreed and went through with my crazy idea. We decided that a good location would be Middleton Woods in Leeds, West Yorkshire. I lugged some big lights through the woods for the shoot so was pretty exhausted by the time that I arrived. Danny set up his rings in a tree, I set up some lights and we set about creating some very interesting pictures. It’s funny looking back as the pictures that were my favourites 10 years ago were the ones that I wasn’t keen on and vice versa. The shoot was great fun, at some point it did start to snow so thought it would be best to head off. I LOVE photographing sports so if you would like a shoot then please get in touch.
