Halloween family portraits, Huddersfield
Fun, photoshoot with my kids
On Tuesday I had a little session of Halloween family portraits in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Well, to be completely honest my kids wanted to have a bit of a Halloween day as they weren’t going to be around for actual Halloween.
A little photo shoot
Both my kids had brought their witch costumes so it would have been rude not to have a little photoshoot. I decided to set up a little studio in my room so I stuck a black curtain to a wall and grabbed a few lights and went from there.
My eldest was into the idea and she loved the idea of doing lots of crazy poses. My youngest however, had other ideas, she just wasn’t in the mood. I thought it would be a great idea to tether my camera to my computer and then as soon as I took a picture my youngest could act as an art director and tell me how to improve it. I was actually shocked how much she noticed and she loved it.
Make it fun
The key to any photoshoot is to make it fun. Any time you work with people you have to connect with your client/subject. I can’t even remember what I had to do to get her to have her pictures taken but I managed. All of a sudden she was posing and I was managing to take a few pictures. I knew I only had limited time but it was working well.
Everything goes south
As always, we always start off sensible and everything is working, then all of a sudden I have new ideas and it goes a bit south. This time I thought I would get my eldest to flick her hair everywhere which was good fun.
The whole shoot took about 30 minutes and we got some fab pictures and then it was back to doing more Halloween things. Here’s a few pictures from our little shoot.
