Leeds wedding photographer, Bibi’s restaurant

Sara and Chris’s amazing wedding in Leeds, West Yorkshire
A few weeks ago I met up with the fabulous Sara and Chris for their wedding at Bibi’s restaurant in Leeds. The way was absolutely awesome and I enjoyed every second of it. (read about it after the pictures)

Bridal preparations
I met up with Sara at her home in Monk Fryston, Selby Sara the bride was incredibly chilled, in fact so chilled that she rocked up from having her hair and makeup done twenty minutes before the actual ceremony. Let’s just say Sara wasn’t the usual flustered bride, she did things at her own pace it was ace.
All of a sudden loads of family arrived at their house (socially distanced of course) and awaited the big reveal of the bride. I’ve mentioned before that this is one of my favourite parts of a wedding day and once again it didn’t disappoint.
Father, daughter time
After the tears it was time to head to the church, Chris and Sara literally live a stone throw away from St Wilfrid’s Church so it was lovely to capture the journey of Sara and her dad walking down the high street. It was a little surreal as there was a drone buzzing about but I knew this was a very special moment for the bride and her dad.
Once I arrived at the church I was ushered to the back so I did my best to capture the proceedings from there, I wasn’t going to argue as it was so fortunate that the wedding was actually going ahead, however the ceremony was lovely and very meaningful. After the confetti and a few group shots everyone jumped on the coach and headed over to Bibi’s restaurant in Leeds.
Bibi’s restaurant
Bibi’s restaurant in my hometown of Leeds did an amazing job of making sure that the wedding was very special. I had never actually been there and I was amazed by the art deco surroundings, in fact, it was a photographers dream. As with any wedding my ultimate goal is for everyone to enjoy themselves and not turn the whole thing into a photo shoot, so after a few drinks, I moved a few tables out of the way to create an area for some group photos.
Bibi’s had a little room for the wedding reception so everyone headed in there. The speeches were fantastic and Chris certainly made the best of the screen and dragging lots of embarrassing pictures up from peoples past. Everyone had some fantastic meals and I went for a wander around Leeds looking for places to take the bride and groom. As always the wedding was over running a little bit and I needed to get ten minutes with the bride and groom so I had to condense my original plans. I headed round the back of Bibi’s in procession with the bride and groom and also the bridesmaids. I saw some skateboarders so managed to talk someone into helping me out with an idea I had, it was great to have ten minutes of creating pictures and having a little quiet time with Chris and Sara.
A few more portraits
Finally, it was time to head back on the bus. Just around the back of their house I had noticed some derelict garages so I made an arrangement to have five more minutes with the newly weds to create some more intimate portraits.
The whole day was absolutely incredible and they certainly made the best of the situation. A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Sara and Chris and thanks for allowing me to photograph such a fabulous occassion.
