Marketing photography in Honley, West Yorkshire

Punch, Uno Cucina Italiano and Krafty Kettle
I was recently invited to do some marketing photography for the fabulous Mustard & Punch Group, based in Honley, West Yorkshire. This once again was part of the new Honley website that I am a part of. Before I start let’s just say that usually under normal circumstances there is no way that I would attempt to photograph restaurants when they are open, but with Covid causing problems we have to do what we can.
Uno Cucina Italiano
I started off in the wonderful Uno Cucina Italiano, which is a little taste of Italy on Honley high street. When I arrived I met up with Rick one of the owners of the Mustard and Punch Group and he gave me a quick tour of all three locations. You’ve got to start somewhere so I started to photograph a little bit of the beautiful decor, my favourite part was a hanging front end of a Lambretta which looks brilliant. I headed into the kitchen to try and capture Rick and his team creating fabulous traditional Italian dishes. I watched and captured as I soaked in the lovely aromas that headed over to me. It was fascinating, it was like watching a Masterchef but in real life.
The food is absolutely gorgeous, I was lucky enough to sample some Uno fries (highly recommended) and also was treated to a beautiful pinsa carne.
As the food was meticulously prepared I concentrated capturing as much as I could, although shooting this way was a challenge it was really good fun. Rick and his team made the shoot fun though and it was a joy to see behind the scenes of such a fantastic restaurant.

Punch Bar and Tapas
If you’re looking for some stunning food with authentic stunning Spanish ingredients then head over to Punch Bar and Tapas. Once again there were a few customers in so I did my best to capture the restaurant without getting in their way. However, one group did agree for me to get a few pictures of them enjoying their afternoon out.
During my time at the Mustard and Punch group, I did encounter a few staff members who didn’t want their picture taken, however, there was one chef that loved it. He went out of his way to create dishes for me to photograph, I love it when I meet people like this, it makes my job so much easier. Some of the dishes that he did prepare smelled absolutely gorgeous. In fact, it made me go there and try for myself. Once again it was good fun to capture the proceedings. I’m not one for exotic food (Tapas is exotic for my palette) but I know that I would absolutely LOVE some of the food, so if you get chance to head over and sample it for yourself.

Krafty Kettle
The final destination of my mission was Krafty Kettle which is a bar that specialises in craft beers craft gins and cocktails. It has a fabulous look which is full of bright posters, it reminded me of my skateboarding days. Krafty Kettle was pretty busy so it wasn’t the easiest place to capture, fortunately, one of the staff members was quite happy to make a few cocktails and work his magic so I could capture him. It’s a great place to have a drink and meet up with friends so make sure you go check it out.

The whole shoot was a whirl wind, I was going from venue to venue, just trying to capture as much as I could in a very short period of time. Make sure you do check out the venues from the Mustard and Punch Group.
