Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce headshots

Not a personal brand photo shoot
A few months ago, Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce got in touch with me as they wanted to have some new headshots. This was no means a personal brand photoshoot, it was just a few headshots (there is a difference)
Problem
As this was in COVID times, we weren’t allowed to go inside to do the shoot. Everything had to be socially distanced and safe and it had to take place at the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce head quarters and everything was to be completed within 40 minutes. Whoops did I forget to mention that Chambers HQ is on an industrial estate?
Solution
I knew that I had to arrive early to have a walk around the industrial estate to scout a few locations. I will admit nothing was really jumping out at me. In the carpark of Chambers HQ there is lots of greenery. Shrubbery is always an easy option to go for, so I had the easy option ticked off.
I then had a walk down the hill about 100 hundred metres and saw a blue fire door. The door had some stickers on, but I knew careful placement of my subject and it would work. Number 3 was a walk to the top of the hill about 200 metres this time, and there was some kind of wooden structure (very small) but just enough to work with.
Light, I was going to be using natural light. Ideally an overcast day would have been perfect but it was one of those days where the sun kept peeping its head out which is always interesting, but I knew I could work with.
On arrival
Everyone started to arrive at different times so it was a great opportunity to have a little chat to everyone. Once everyone arrived it was time to rock. I looked for the people who were the most outgoing and started with them, before photographing the ones who were a little more apprehensive. As soon as we got going it was constant and the shoot took no time at all.
After the individual pictures we took a few group photos (socially distanced) and the shoot was done.
