Personal brand photography, Cafe Loom

Cafe Loom, Honley marketing images
Last week I headed over to the fabulous Cafe Loom in Honley, West Yorkshire for a mini personal brand shoot. I have a confession to make and until last week I didn’t even know that Cafe Loom even existed. The pictures were for the Honley website. Cafe Loom is situated in Dixon and Franks (which is why I wasn’t aware of it)
I met up with Della the owner, just before opening and had a good look around, the cafe. I could tell that Della was a little nervous about having some pictures taken so I started the shoot by photographing some of her delicious food.
Take your time
Starting with the food images is a great way to just engage with your client. I take my time just capturing the details and chatting to the client and breaking down barriers. Once again all the time this is about getting the client to trust me and build that relationship.
People photographer
I am a people photographer, that’s who I am, I want to get the best out of people and it doesn’t have to take long to do this. Once I had photographed all the food, plates, crockery and little details it was time to just focus on the people. As soon as I started to take a couple of portraits of Della some of her staff came in. Perfect, I then just used these people to make her laugh and get that friendliness to show through.
There was one lady that I could tell didn’t want to be photographed so I knew I had to use both Della and the other girl. We headed into a different room to show the surroundings and I just got them talking.
Cafe Loom is a fabulous hidden secret, make sure you head to Honley and check it out. Also, if you’re looking for some personal brand photos then please give me a shout john@johnsteelphotography.com
