Amy and Alistair, Chevin Country Park Hotel, Leeds, West Yorkshire
It's been quite some time since I photographed a wedding at Chevin Country Park Hotel in Leeds, West Yorkshire so I was excited to photograph Amy and Alistair's wedding. I started the morning at the brides mum's house, it was great to be back in West Leeds (I'm a Leeds lad) but being in a house full of very happy, excited people in Bramley was great. The makeup artist Leanne smoult did a fab job of working her magic whilst people were bouncing around the kitchen on space hoppers. There was a lovely atmosphere in the house.
I then headed over to Chevin Country Park Hotel to meet Alistair and the rest of the wedding party. Alistair as ever was pretty chilled and just happy to get the day underway. Unfortunately, the weather was typically October English weather (wet) so I knew most of the day would be spent inside. The bridal party arrived in a crazy Beauford Tourer car and jumped out to get the ceremony underway. The ceremony went well although the bride cannot actually remember walking down the aisle so I guess the pictures help her to realise she did.
The afternoon was good, I photographed lots of candid pictures of guests laughing and smiling, we did some group photos and the speeches went down a storm.
In the evening the entertainment was provided by the resident DJ and it was party time. One thing was certainly evident for me at this time. The brides family and friends were pretty crazy whilst on the other hand, the grooms family and friends who are South African, were very chilled out and just happy to chat. The bride had contributed to the playlist and in her own words, she'd requested lots of "cheesy tunes" so I had a great time photographing people trying to perform the macarena and similar songs.
It was a fabulous wedding with loads of lovely people, thanks for allowing me to photograph the day.
