Family photography, Cheshire

One good thing about lockdown is that it gives us opportunities to do all of those jobs that we've been putting off. One of my biggest tasks that I'm embarking on is backing up 15 years of photos and putting them in my current online gallery. This is great as it gives me the perfect excuse to re-blog some of my favourite shoots from the time. Anyone that knows me will know that I have a pretty good memory so I don't often forget experiences

Here's a family portrait shoot that I did in 2014 with the Hardie family. The background to this shoot was the beautiful house that is being used was a family home and I think they were actually selling it, so they asked me to come over to Cheshire and capture lots of special family photos in that house. When I'm photographing a family photoshoot I try not to get too much involved. I do pride myself as being a documentary photographer but sometimes I do need to add my input to get things started. I also sometimes encourage a group shot in between all of those candid moments.  We had loads of fun bouncing on the trampoline, playing on the swing, general running around, watering plants, playing on my skateboard and generally enjoying family time.

I always had the story about the family home in my mind so made sure I created lots of homely memories (I've not included these in this blog post as they are personal).  I know the pictures that I captured/created on that day will be very special to the Hardie family and this is why I've decided to re-blog this from the archives.

I keep forgetting to tell people that I do family shoots so if you're after special memories of your family then please get in touch for more information john@johnsteelphotography.com
