Home school - Lock down week 1, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
We are living in very strange, unprecedented times at the moment living in lockdown and having to homeschool our kids is something very unusual. I've decided to embrace the time, spend loads of time doing loads of fun activities with my kids and also take loads of pictures of them. This was week one and it was just before the Easter holidays so we had some time doing some homeschooling. I think the secret is to try and get into some kind of routine so a rough itinerary was to have breakfast, do the Joe Wicks work out, then my eldest (8) would spend some time doing some online work and my youngest (4) would follow Joe up with something a little bit more chilled "cosmic yoga". We would spend most of the morning doing school work in the form of online platforms, jigsaws, colouring and anything else fun. After dinner, we would then head out for a walk but I'd usually take bubbles or even a home-made kite and generally have an hour or so getting some fresh air. All the time I would carry my camera around and just occasionally snap lots of natural pictures of the kids.
I'm loving my time with the kids generally messing about and having fun and the pictures that I take of them are so natural and these are pictures that I will always treasure. Doing this has really made me see the importance of having pictures so I'm currently re-jigging my family photo packages to make them affordable and accessible for everyone.
