Rebeecca + Rob, The Faversham, Leeds, West Yorkshire

The Faversham, Leeds, West Yorkshire is one of the places that I've had on my bucket list for a while to photograph a wedding, so I was ecstatic when Rebecca and Rob hired me to shoot their wedding. I started the day at the bride's mums house where Becca and the girls one chap were all getting ready. I always like this part of the wedding, it's a great opportunity for people to get to know me, how I work and it's the calm before the storm. The morning was very chilled out just how it should be, I absolutely LOVED Becca's dress, it was so different and she looked stunning!

When I arrived at The Fav Rob was there to greet me, he didn't look nervous and I just knew that the day would be loads of fun. Rebecca was led into the ceremony by a chap that played the bagpipes, so we could certainly hear her coming. There was a really friendly down-to-earth feeling to the whole day which made my job really easy. After the ceremony, I asked the piper just to lead a very quick procession around the carpark which was a little different.  The rest of the afternoon people sat in the sun, drinking, chatting and just generally having a lovely day, this was perfect for my kind of documentary wedding photography as everywhere I looked there was something happening.

When I met Rob and Rebecca they told me they weren't into having loads of posed pictures so just after a small handful of group photos I just whisked them off around the university grounds just for five minutes as it's important to get a few portraits for them, it's also nice for the bride and groom to have 5 minutes away from the wedding.  Once I returned I just had to grab a few detail shots of the venue. Wow!!! The conservatory looked absolutely fabulous decorated with a rustic vibe, it was so refreshing to see something a little different.

There weren't really any official speeches just a quick toast from Rob before everyone tucked into some grub. After the meal, people chatted, played Jenga and generally had a great time with their family and friends. The cake was cut the bouquet was tossed and lots of dancing occurred. One of their guests was a DJ and he did a fantastic job of providing the evening's entertainment.
