Yorkshire Awesome, Sheffield
Being a wedding photographer can be a pretty lonely job. A lot of my time I'm editing pictures, writing blogs, updating social media, creating slideshows and generally working alone. Because of this, a group of us have created "The Yorkshire Awesome" this is a group of four full-time wedding photographers all at similar stages of our careers. We meet up, have some brews, chat and share loads of information. We decided to head over to Sheffield for a bit of fun and this time we decided to take out cameras. We were only allowed to take one camera and one lens and see what we could come up with. We wanted to create a few headshots of each other and the rest of the time we focused on street photography. For me the highlight was just going out and generally messing about with people who I now call friends, it's sometimes so nice to just create fun pictures and to be reminded about why we love our jobs so much. It's also fascinating to see how each photographer shoots differently to the next. I'm a great believer in "community over competition" and now we share loads of advice and even refer wedding bookings to each other on days that we have already been booked.
I'm really looking forward to our next mission.
