Documentary photography for SAM Networking at Huddersfield
A year ago, I visited SAM Networking to see if I enjoyed the group. I have been engaging in business networking in various forms for the last 20 years or so, and it's not my favourite thing to do. It's one of my most hated tasks. I have been part of various networks, and it's never been very successful for me.
The fact that I have a good bullsh#t meter and I don't like false people doesn't help me.
When I joined SAM, it felt different. Yes, there is structure to the meetings, but people genuinely enjoy themselves. Not everyone takes themselves too seriously, which is something I have always struggled with at these meetings, as I enjoy having a laugh.
If you're looking for a great networking group, then check out SAM.
I decided to take my camera to a meeting and capture what happened. As a documentary photographer, I can always find interesting pictures to tell a story and include people in the mix, and it always results in good pictures. After about five minutes, everyone forgot I was there and continued with the meeting, which is how I wanted the pictures to be: no weird, false posing, just natural reactions.
I love capturing real people, so this was loads of fun for me.
Here are just a few of the pictures that I captured in that meeting.
If you would like some pictures of your event or business, then please give me a shout.
