Caroline and Morgan's wedding at The Woodman Inn
A few months ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Caroline and Morgan's wedding at the fabulous Woodman Inn, Huddersfield. I headed over early to bridal preparations. Caroline was very chilled, and I could tell that it was going to be a brilliant day. I have photographed many weddings at The Woodman Inn over the years, so I'm familiar with the venue.
The morning is always the calm before the storm. I made sure to spend my time capturing Caroline and the bride, Morgan, as well as the boys, and the details.
One of my favourite things to see at a wedding is colour! I love it! I also love it when the bride and groom create numerous small touches themselves. Morgan had made the name plaque, and Caroline had created butterflies, as well as the candles and countless other lovely touches. Caroline and Morgan are big into their music, and both are DJs, so it was brilliant to see name plates that were vinyl singles.
All the guests were lovely, so it was easy to do my thing. When I photograph a wedding, I want to capture all of the emotions, laughs, tears and everything else in between. I aim to create pictures that will last a lifetime and transport people back to the day of the wedding.
The ceremony was lovely and I managed to capture lots of tears, which is always a bonus. One of my favourite moments was after the ceremony when Caroline and Morgan danced down the aisle and everyone waved coloured streamers in front of them. After the ceremony, people mingled, we took some group pictures and the usual candid pictures of everyone being happy. It was great.
When the bride and groom entered the room, the music was pumped up, and everyone started to dance. I love this kind of stuff.
After the wedding breakfast, it was time for the speeches. The speeches were the perfect mix of funny and emotional, which is always very special.
As always, by the time the speeches had finished, the timing was entirely out of the window, and everything was running late. I managed to get Caroline and Morgan out for a quick five minutes of portraits, and then it was party time.
As I mentioned earlier, music is a big part of who Morgan and Caroline are, so I knew the dance floor would be packed; I wasn't disappointed.
The day was fantastic; I loved every second of it, and everyone was brilliant.
Thank you for asking me to photograph your wedding.
Congratulations, Mr and Mrs Cameron.
