Wedding at Kings Croft Hotel, Pontefract, South Yorkshire

Natasha and Mark's wedding at Kings Croft Hotel

I was looking forward to Natasha and Mark's wedding at Kings Croft Hotel, Pontefract. I've known Natasha for quite some time, and she can be a bit bonkers in a good way. Natasha told me that I was the only photographer for them, so there was no pressure!

This was my first time at Kings Croft, so I was interested to see how the wedding would run. When I arrived, it was a beautiful day, and I photographed the guests who were mingling outside. Little did I know that was the wrong wedding. I've never been keen on hotels that are wedding factories, but that's just my personal opinion.

I headed inside and found a very excited and calm Natasha (I didn't think she was calm). It was lovely to see and meet everyone. When I am at a wedding, I try to capture everything that happens and the real-life story of the day.

Between capturing bridal preparations, I had the chance to photograph the details in the room and catch up with Mark. Mark was calm, and the other guests started to arrive.

There was a lovely atmosphere during the day, and I was excited to get on with the day.

The ceremony took place in the stunning wedding pavilion, which is a glass dome in the garden, which is lovely. The ceremony was beautiful; there were many laughs and tears, and the day was perfect. After the ceremony, guests mingled in the gardens, drank and ate, and I did a mixture of documentary photography and the group shots. The fabulous Mark Maycock Magician was doing his thing while I was organising folk and making people relax and laugh. The day seemed to fly by; all the guests were lovely, and everyone was happy.

It was soon time to head in for the great speeches, and then it was time for a buffet meal. I don't know how, but the time seemed to fly, and it was time for the first dance. The fabulous Crystal Visions Duo provided the tunes and did a great job getting everyone on the dance floor—the rest of the night I spent capturing pictures of people on the dancefloor. The fabulous team from Jellybean Photobooth was there so folk could jump in, grab a prop, and take their pictures. I should also mention that Natasha works for Jellybean. The brilliant Stacey was the maid of honour, and the fantastic Adam was also helping out with everything all day.

The dancefloor got messy, and it was a perfect wedding.

Congratulations to Natasha and Mark, and thank you for choosing me to photograph your special day.
