Brighouse 1940s weekend, documentary photography
Yesterday, I had a day off, so what better thing to do than do some photography? It was the 1940s weekend in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, where I live, and they always do a fantastic job. As this was a bit of fun photography, I adopted a street photography approach, focusing on purely documentary coverage. I always love the people who turn out in costume, and I enjoy photographing them alongside others.
The weather was very interchangeable, and the rain kept showing itself, but it didn't stop people from having fun.
There were numerous vintage cars, a plethora of music acts, people dancing, and everyone generally enjoying themselves.
The shops all embraced the weekend and made sure they had fantastic window displays. The town was packed, which is the primary purpose of the event. It was great to get out and have a bit of fun, mooching about and doing some street photography.
I'm certainly looking forward to some more events in Brighouse and taking more pictures.
