Stock Car Racing, Bradford, Odsal Stadium
At the weekend, my girlfriend Kate and I decided to head over to Odsal Stadium in Bradford to watch the stock car racing, this was a Yorstox event.
This was my first time attending this event, and I wasn't sure what to expect. I had read the spectator's guide, and it mentioned that we were allowed to take pictures. The guide also mentioned that we were allowed to walk around the pits before the event started.
Wow, I loved it! Walking around the pits and people-watching was amazing. The pits were filled with interesting characters and smashed cars, and it had an interesting Grit to it. I could have stayed there photographing the people for the whole event.
The event was fantastic; it was well-organised and flowed smoothly. There were many different classes of Stock Cars, and I'm not going to pretend that I know anything about them. The cars drove quickly around the tracks; there were lots of bumps and a great deal of excitement, and it was generally enjoyable to watch.
My favourites were the bangers! There is something very special about seeing smashed-up cars speeding around a track and crashing into each other. It was a fantastic event, and I'm looking forward to going again.
I would love to do a photo project on the people who are stock car racers.
Here are some of the pictures which I photographed at the event.
