PR shoot for Wilson’s Republic in Huddersfield
On Monday, I had the opportunity to photograph the fabulous three of Wilson's Republic in Huddersfield. Wilson's Republic is a network of creative communities in Calderdale.
My three victims were Darren, Aidan and Katie, who all have their agencies and are busy folk, so it wasn't easy to find a time when everyone was free.
Let's just put it out there: most creatives hate having their picture taken, so I knew I had to make the shoot as effortless as possible.
The photoshoot took place at Bates Mill in Huddersfield. The first location was the blending shed, which is the space for their next event. When I walked in, I was greeted by a very dark room that had a lot of space. I was unsure of where to start, so I grabbed some lights and then began taking pictures. The three were good despite being creatives.
After we had taken the first initial pictures, they mentioned that we could head over to a room in the mill. Oh my word, we walked into a brilliant space, with lots of windows and natural light, and I was spoiled for choice. Everywhere I looked, I could see places to take pictures. I shot some individual headshots and more group photos.
We didn't have much time for the shoot as the mill was closing. We took a few more pictures outside, and it was a very successful shoot. I love working with creatives, people who trust me and let me get on with it.
If you are a creative in Calderdale, be sure to get in touch with Wilson's Republic and consider getting involved with the bubbles.
